The Silence of the lambs

Suspense films always interested me, but in most cases I couldn’t find any art value.

But I may even go to an extend and say : This 1991 suspense film staring Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins is a classic!

Young Clarice Starling, the FBI agent, comes to Hannibal Lecter to find the serial killer Buffalo Bill. This scene is its high point.

Many reviewers neglected the importance of this scene – Hopkins stands perfectly still in the middle of his cell floor, arms at his sides – but not standing at attention, hiding the devil with in!  One can see the great actor Sir Anthony Hopkins here.

The film fetched Demme the Academy Award for Best Director.

Academy Awards:

Best Actor, Anthony Hopkins

Best Actress, Jodie Foster
Best Director, Jonathan Demme
Best Picture, Edward Saxon
